Creating a bucket list is a great way to set aspirations and work towards achieving them. Often, people have a bucket list full of goals and dreams that they would like to achieve in a lifetime, but this doesn’t always have to be the case. Writing a short-term bucket list can also be fun and also a great way to keep the family occupied over the summer break. So, to help you out, we’re sharing some entertaining ideas to get you started. Don’t forget, you can also get crafty with your bucket list and decorate with paint, stickers and glitter!
Whether you have a local camping area or some extra space in your garden, camping is a great way to appreciate nature, step away from technology and enjoy the company of your family and friends. Simply stock up on all the camping essentials such as tents, sleeping bags, chairs, lights and a BBQ - and let the fun begin! Try creating your own nature scavenger hunt, having sleeping bag races or toasting marshmallows on the BBQ, for an added bit of family fun.
Picnic on the beach
You don’t need to travel abroad to enjoy some family time on the beach. With plenty of beautiful beaches across the UK, you can picnic on the sands all summer long. Why not add a theme to your picnic for an extra special touch? Try a French theme with charcuterie, cheese and crusty baguettes or have your very own teddy bears picnic!
To add a bit of competition to your summer, have your very own big family bake-off. First, set a theme (biscuits, cakes or pastry are always good options!) and set a time limit. Then, everyone has to bake their own recipe following the guidelines and timings and at the end, you all taste and judge a winner. Plenty of fun and plenty of treats at the end!
Take a photo every day
Be sure to take a photo every day of summer that sums up what you’ve been doing, and at the end of the summer, you can create your very own scrapbook or collage to look back on. Perfect for the children’s back-to-school ‘show and tell’ presentations too!
