Food shows are always a good idea in our opinion, but in the run up to Christmas it seems even more lovely to go and indulge in some foodie festivities. After all, you’ve got to treat yourself every now and then, haven’t you?
Well, if you’re in the mood for treating yourself this weekend then the Good Food Show Winter is the perfect place to head. From the 26-29th November, the Good Food Show Winter is taking over the NEC Birmingham, bringing with it a whole host of tasty treats, tours, talks and events.
Head to the Supertheatre, regarded by many as the highlight of the whole Good Food Show Winter, for a chance to watch some of the best celebrity chefs in the world cook delicious dishes right there in front of you. We’re sure there’ll be some seriously rumbly tummies during the sessions! This year the Supertheatre will play host to culinary giants such as Michel Roux Jr, Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry and James Martin, so this is definitely one not to be missed.
Want the chance to fire some cuisine-related questions at your favourite chefs? Well, thanks to the Good Food Show’s Interview Stage this dream can become a reality! Hosted by Lotte Duncan, these talks give the audience a chance to ask some of the best chefs in the business any questions they can possibly think of. Chefs including Lorraine Pascale, Hemsley + Hemsley and the Hairy Bikers will all be available during the event to answer your questions, so they’re sure to be popular sessions! Plus, the Interview Stage is free to watch – what’s not to love about that?
The Good Food Show Winter has yet another opportunity for you to get up close and personal with your favourite foodie celebs, in the form of their very own Book Signing Area. Shop for the latest version of your favourite chef’s books at the Books by WHSmith stand and then head over to the signing area to get your copy signed by the chefs themselves, with favourites like Mary Berry, Tom Kerridge, Gennaro Contaldo and more all on hand during the Show.
Another exciting event during the Show is the World Cheese Awards – which are judged live on the first day of the event. The. World. Cheese. Awards. I’m just going to let that one sink in for a minute. If you’re not going to make it to the first day of the event then don’t fret, you can still attend one of the tutored tours and cheese talks throughout the weekend to learn more about the world’s best cheeses – as well as sampling some of the delicious delicacies, of course!
After all, when you head to a huge event like the Good Food Show Winter, you want to taste some delicious things, don’t you? Well, you won’t be disappointed. The list of exhibitors for this years event is practically endless, with something for everyone to enjoy. From patisserie stands to gluten free snacks, gourmet coffees and speciality cheeses, there’s no chance of you going hungry at the Good Food Show Winter. Don’t forget to explore the Drinks Cupboard section of the exhibition for plenty of delicious tipples to wash everything down!
