What better way to kick off spring than with a good old food show, whetting your appetite with new dishes as well as giving you a healthy portion of expert advice from top chefs, and plenty of delights from exhibitors to taste.
It is of course time for The Good Food Show Spring, taking place in Harrogate from the 8th-10th April 2016.
There’s lots to see and do at this year’s Good Food Show Spring, including interviews, book signings, cooking demonstrations, shopping for any kitchen necessities you may need, as well as tasting some exquisite food and drink from excellent producers from all over the country.
At the event you will see some of the top chef and bakers around, including none other than Paul Hollywood, The Hairy Bikers, Tom Kerridge and Michel Roux Jr. You will be able to grill them with your burning cooking and baking questions, thanks to them appearing live on the interview stage, as well as getting a selfie or an autograph at the many book signings.
The ever lovely Lotte Duncan, Stephanie Moon and Francis Atkins will individually be on the interview stage, ready and waiting for your inquisitive, culinary questions. As well as these appearances, top chefs will also be in the Supertheatre, rustling up dishes in front of you and providing you with expert tips on creating the best seasonal dishes.
As always there will be plenty for you to do in the Producers Village, with lots of small artisan exhibitors enabling you to try before you buy. Plus, head for the Local Flavours selection for the chance to try some award-winning local produce – treats have never tasted so good.
If you have more of a sweet tooth then you cannot miss the Bakes and Cakes Village, where you can learn all you need to know about baking, as well as being able to buy every baking tool you’ll ever need. Don’t forget to stop off at the Drinks Cabinet to chat to independent experts and sample fine wines, spirits, ciders, cocktails and champagne.
You need to keep an eye out for the talented and deserving producers who won The Producers Awards, which granted them with a bursary to exhibit at the show. They went through an extremely tough and intense application process and were luckily enough to be picked. Therefore you know their produce will be exquisite, and definitely not one to miss out on trying.
BBC Good Food Champions is where you’ll find artisan producers of outstanding excellence celebrating their tasty produce. Here you can also discover a wide and varied selection of food and drink producers to cater for all tastes, with the opportunity to explore the history behind each of them and sample some of their delights! Plus, should you wish, you can stock up on tasty treats to take home with you. We think it sounds like the perfect way to start the food festival season!
