We’re proud to be from the Garden of England, and we love to celebrate everything that this wonderful county has to offer. In the run up to the festive season Kent is the perfect place to be, with tons of family activities, events and Christmas markets. Here we’ve rounded up some of the best Christmas markets Kent has to offer.
Rochester Christmas Market
(from 28th November)
In the past four years the Rochester Christmas Market has grown in style and reputation, becoming bigger and better than ever before. An extensive mix of exciting stallholders and retailers will descend on this beautiful Medway town for another year of festive fun at the Rochester Christmas Market – house within the beautiful Castle Gardens. Enjoy the great products on offer, as well as the range of eateries – from hot chocolate to hog roasts. Plus, the second weekend of the market will be the Dickensian Christmas Festival, with plenty of street entertainment, song and dance.
Canterbury Christmas Market
(from 28th November)
This year Canterbury is hosting an ‘all new’ Christmas Market, and it’s sure to be a success. It will include over 30 colourful cabins selling all sort of festive produce, gifts and decorations. Enjoy a warming glass of festive mulled wine while you’re browsing through the stalls and stocking up on plenty of unique stocking stuffers. Plus, kids will love the new Santa experience, held in the Whitefriars Square.
Faversham Christmas Market
(from 29th November)
Located around the Guildhall in the Market Place, the Faversham Christmas Market has become hugely popular in the Kent area. People come back year after year to stock up on locally-made gifts and produce, from food and drinks to jewellery and pottery, and enjoy the atmosphere around the stalls. There’s more to see than just shops, with donkeys, carol singing and brass bands all on hand to keep shoppers entertained.
Tenterden Christmas Market
Head down to Tenterden High Street on Saturday 5th December this year to enjoy the Tenterden Christmas Market in all its glory. Search for the perfect gift while making the most of the festive atmosphere lingering around the stalls. You also get to experience Tenterden High Street in a whole new way, with it being transformed into a traditional Christmas Market complete with lights, sounds and smells. Real animals and a Santa’s Grotto mean that the whole family can enjoy the festive fun in Tenterden this year.
Leeds Castle Christmas Market
(from 5th December)
Once again Leeds Castle will be hosting the annual Christmas Market during the month of December. Taking place on the Cedar Lawn, the market will play host to a range of retailers offering toys, decorations, food and drink as well as plenty of seasonal gift inspiration. Not in the mood for shopping? Take a ride on the traditional fairground attractions, pay the reindeer a visit or enjoy the live entertainment over on the bandstand. Fun for the whole family.
