Thank you for taking the time to visit the Spicers of Hythe Ltd terms and conditions page. Please note that making a purchase from Spicers of Hythe Ltd by phone or from you are agreeing to our terms and conditions.

From time to time we may update our terms and conditions; therefore it is your responsibility to check this section prior to buying hampers or gifts from us. By making a purchase from or by making a purchase from Spicers of Hythe Ltd over the phone you are agreeing to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.


All photographs, copy, images, graphics contained within this website are the wholly owned property of Spicers of Hythe Ltd. Any parties found to be using or copying any element of this website without permission including our products or product descriptions will be deemed to be infringing our copyright. If you wish to sell our hampers via your own website you must obtain our permission.

Any amendments or alterations to accepted orders must be in writing and may only be cancelled or varied with Spicers of Hythe Ltd consent: the giving of such consent shall not in any way prejudice Spicers of Hythe Ltd rights to recover from the Purchaser full compensation for any loss or expense arising from such cancellation or variation.

If the final order is increased from the initial agreed quantities please note that extra lead-time may be required to: re-stock items, pack items and despatch the order.


Due to the varied content of items within our hampers, we are unable to give specific allergy information on each hamper but you can get more details on our FAQ page


Every address can be sent with a personalised gift message of up to 240 characters including spaces and punctuation. The gift message is printed on 170gsm A5 folding to A6 paper. For individual hamper orders it will be found inside the delivery documentation under the delivery label on the outer box and for bulk deliveries they are inside a “message enclosed” docket on the outside of the box. Both the personalised message and the delivery label are completely hidden for privacy.

If you wish to send in your own message cards or require specific requirements please call us for further details and advice.

To help the accuracy and efficiency of your order please ensure we have the correct information at the time of ordering:

  • accurate address details including postcodes
  • the telephone number of the recipient(s)
  • any gift message(s)
  • any special delivery instructions
  • details of which hampers are to be sent to each address

All orders must be paid for in full prior to despatch of the goods. The following payment methods are accepted;

  • Credit/debit cards –(Access, Mastercard, Visa, Switch and Delta) - all card payments are validated and authorised prior to completion of your order. We are not liable for non-delivery of your goods if your payment is not authorised
  • Cheque - all cheques must be sent at least 7 day prior to despatch to allow time for clearance
  • BACs – transfer to Spicers of Hythe Ltd, HSBC Bank Account 72228327 Sort Code 40-19-31

Credit terms are only acceptable for large corporate orders and by agreement only.


To authorise the card payments all details are encrypted and passed between us and our provider using 128-bit SSL certificates.


All prices for Goods are specified on all Spicers of Hythe Ltd media (brochures or websites) and are correct at time of publication or at agreed contract prices. VAT will be charged at the current rate on vatable items only, i.e. chocolates or wines etc.


All deliveries are sent on fully trackable couriers, selected from the following services:

  • Our Standard Delivery service - choose a week commencing date and the hamper will be delivered Monday - Friday 8am – 6pm, except for fresh food hampers (see FRESH FOOD HAMPERS). Any hampers ordered by 13:00 GMT in the same week (up to Wednesday) as the required week commencing delivery date will be dispatched the following day.
  • Our Named Day service - if you would like to have your hamper delivered on a specific day then choose our Named Day delivery service. There is a surcharge on £2 + VAT per address. Any hampers ordered by 13:00 GMT will be despatched the same day.
  • Saturday any hamper ordered by 13:00 GMT on a Friday could be delivered the following day, Saturday. Visit for surcharges and restrictions.

Every order dispatched to a UK mainland address is sent on a 24 hour service; certain postcodes will take 48-72 hours and carry a surcharge. See website for further details

Delivery surcharges are applicable to Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland, Scilly Isles and IOM. Visit for surcharges and restrictions.

All Fresh Food hampers are only available for delivery to UK mainland addresses and to ensure the quality during transit we cannot deliver Fresh Food hampers on a Monday, they are dispatched using our standard service between Tuesday to Friday, if you would like your hamper delivered on a specific day then ensure you specify this option on your order, there is a surcharge of £2 + VAT per address.

The Fresh Food hampers are clearly marked  in the brochure and on the website.

Certain hampers are suitable for overseas delivery, these are clearly marked on the website and in the brochure as follows;

Please visit for surcharges and delivery times. Please note there may be custom duties payable on entering certain destinations and we are unable to calculate or confirm these costs at time of ordering.

We are unable to deliver to BFPO or PO Box addresses.

If you would like your hampers delivered outside our current service options detailed above please contact our office for advice and details.

Delivery of a number of hampers to one address can easily be arranged. Bulk delivery costs for hamper orders placed via website are calculated and displayed at the checkout. Our sales team will also be able to calculate the bulk delivery cost for you.

You may prefer to collect your order direct from our warehouse, just specify this option at time of ordering, detailing when you would like to collect. Our warehouse is open for collection Monday - Friday 9am - 4pm. Any other collection times must be pre-arranged, for further details call our customer service team on 01303 235600.

By providing us with your email address at the time of ordering we can update you with the carriers website tracking information, as soon as the hamper has been dispatched. Their website should then provide you with a very comprehensive progress report.

Our carrier will only deliver to the address you have provided;

  • if no one is at the address to sign for the goods the courier will deliver it to a neighbour and leave a card with your recipient; giving details on how to re-arrange the delivery at a more convenient time
  • if the carrier is not contacted by the recipient within 5 working days the hamper will be returned. However we are notified daily of any non deliveries and our customer service team will endeavour to get the delivery completed before the hamper is returned to us.

We regret that where the goods have been correctly delivered we cannot accept responsibility if the intended recipient has moved, or lives elsewhere, and the actual receiver refuses or fails to return the hamper.

All hampers need to be signed for upon delivery and are only delivered to a ground floor location, if you require special handling please contact our office for further details and advice.

Please provide accurate delivery information at the time of ordering, any address alterations not notified to us prior to despatch may incur additional costs.

Unfortunately, Spicers of Hythe cannot take responsibility for late delivery of any hampers due to:
1. Adverse weather conditions
2. Incomplete or incorrect delivery addresses
3. Any other causes beyond our reasonable control and not limited to securing necessary export licenses, compliance with laws or regulations, Acts of God, acts or omissions of the Purchaser, acts of civil or military authority, judicial action defaults of sub-contractors or suppliers, labour disputes, failure or delays in transportation, embargoes, wars or riots.


All our hampers are fully insured.

If your recipient has received a damaged or defective hamper then we guarantee to replace or refund the hamper in full, as long as:

1.    You telephone us on 01303 235635 or email within 48 hours of delivery if the hamper
2.    If we request to see the hamper will we organise the collection at our cost, but the recipient is reasonable in making the hamper available for collection  between Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (except Bank Holidays)
3.    If requested you will take a photograph of the damaged or defective hamper(s) and forward a copy to other head office.

Please note

  • You will not be charged for the collection of your item nor for the delivery of a replacement hamper.
  • Please note that we are unable to reimburse the cost of returning an item to us under any circumstances, as we will arrange collection through our own carrier at no cost to you.


All orders can be cancelled up to the day of despatch, when a full refund will be credited, except if:

  1. the order is a large corporate order
  2. the hamper is a bespoke hamper, as on some bespoke hampers where we have to purchase specific items
  3. the order has been personalised

For online and telephone orders the customer has the right to cancel, for whatever reason, an order up to seven days after receipt of goods, as long as:

  1. we are notified in writing, by fax or email, within 7 working days of delivery
  2. the hamper does not contain any perishable items i.e. fish, cheese, ham
  3. the hamper remains unused and no components are opened
  4. the recipient takes all reasonable care of the hamper and its contents prior to our collection which will take place by our carrier between Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (Excluding Bank Holidays)

We will refund you the full amount including carriage with 28 days of delivery.


If a customers wishes to cancel their order once it has been dispatched then the following refunds will apply;

Written or email orders cancelled due to incorrect delivery information provided

50% of invoiced price of the hamper less the original delivery and return charges

Written or email orders for hampers not delivered due to incorrect delivery information provided

50% of invoiced price of the hamper less the original delivery and return charges

For orders place in writing or by email where the carrier is unable to deliver due to the unavailability of the recipient and the hamper is returned

50% of invoiced price of the hamper less the original delivery and return charges


Spicers of Hythe Ltd will make every effort to conform to product listings and in the event of non-availability; goods will be substituted with other item(s) of similar quality and value. Errors and omissions excepted. Colours of linings can vary and photographic props i.e. glasses are not included unless otherwise stated.

All orders are subject to availability, if a hamper is sold out then we will endeavour to contact the purchaser to agree an alternative hamper.


Spicers of Hythe Ltd will supply samples of their hampers but reserve the right to charge for any samples at the advertised price shown in the catalogue.


Any hampers containing alcohol can only be ordered by customer over 18 years of age. These Terms and Conditions do not affect your Statutory Rights.

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
