Love good food and looking for something to do this summer? The UK is a great place to be. Here in the UK we have many talented chefs and event organisers who look to host food festivals on a yearly basis. So far this year we have had a number of fun food events, such as the annual Tynemouth Food Festival. Hundreds of foodies attended the celebration of North Eastern grub this year at the event on May 10th.
What can you expect from a food festival?
Not all food festivals consist of the same activities. However many (including the Tynemouth Food Festival) do follow the lines of a cooking display, featuring local or even globally recognised chefs. There are often plenty of stalls to let you try different foods, and food festivals can be great places to pick up new recipes and meet new people with similar interests to you. Let’s have a look at some of the festivals to come.
Upcoming food festivals
There are a number of upcoming food festivals this year, including:
Flavours of Summer 2015 – 6th June 2015
This is sure to be a fun filled day, with something for the whole family to enjoy. You will have the opportunity to meet some of the region’s top chefs and, of course, get the chance to enjoy some tasty food and drink. You’ll even get to put your skills to the test and learn tips and tricks from some of the chefs.
Quex Food, Drink & Craft Show – 13th June 2015
Situated in the beautiful Quex Park Estate, the Quex Food, Drink & Craft Show will offer a selection of the finest foods, drinks and crafts Kent has to offer. There’ll be lots going on, with live music by a cadet band, a beer tent, BBQ and a children’s outdoor play area.
Congleton Food & Drink Festival – 14th June 2015
With over 100 stalls selling top quality local produce, the Congleton Food & Drink Festival is bound to be a day filled with fun for the whole family. There are activities for the kids, as well as street entertainment, music and magic.
Colchester Food and Drink Festival – 27th June 2015
Loved by many food enthusiasts, the Colchester Food and Drink Festival has been running for more than 10 successful years. This year it will be offering over 150 stalls, both inside the main food hall and outside with trailers and gazebos.
Great British Food Festival in Cheshire – 19th and 20th September 2015
There will be over 100 traders at the Great British Food Festival, with top free chef demos, live music and kids entertainment. There will be bars, gift stalls and even a cake off and man vs food competitions. We think this will be one of the biggest food events of 2015.
Here at Spicers of Hythe we love a good food festival; it’s an excellent way to spend a sunny summer weekend.
