We are proud to announce that we will be supporting Kent based charity Abigail’s Footsteps.
Abigail’s Footsteps was launched in 2010 by Jo and David Ward, following the death of their stillborn daughter Abigail. The charity was set up to provide better bereavement counselling for healthcare professionals, so that they were equipped to provide the best support to families, during the immediate aftermath of losing a child. The charity also continues to improve the quality of supportive information that is available to families following a stillbirth.

As its first initiative to support the charity, we will be giving 10% of proceeds to Abigail’s Footsteps from any purchase using the code S15AF1 at the checkout; from today until the end of September. Customers will receive a 5% discount when quoting code S15AF1 as a thank you for supporting the charity.
Managing Director of Spicers of Hythe, Ian Spicer commented, “Abigail’s Footsteps in an incredible charity, and one that we are proud to support. Our history and values are centred on family, so the work that they do to support families at a devastating time captured our hearts. On behalf of all the team here at Spicers, we are committed to making a difference through our support of the charity.”

David Ward, Founder and Trustee of Abigail’s Footsteps added, “The charity is set up to support local people with local money. Raising just £2,000 is enough to be able to provide a local hospital with a cold cot. This is one of the most practical elements of support a hospital can offer as it is designed to keep a baby’s body cool after its death, allowing parents and families more time to create memories and as a result, in some small way help reduce the stress of losing a child so early in its life. We are hugely grateful that Spicers of Hythe have chosen to support Abigail’s Footsteps in this way. With their support, we can continue to generate awareness for the charity as well as receiving a valued, financial contribution also.”
