Often we make New Year’s Resolutions that seem to be more about driving yourself to work harder, cramming more into an already busy schedule and giving up the things you enjoy. They aren’t fun. So this year, we would like to invite you to our circle of FEEL GOOD NEW YEAR.
We are pledging to make New Year’s Resolutions that involve spending more time doing things that make us happy. Even if that’s nothing! Instead of talking about goals, targets and calorie counting, this year, make choices that enable you to appreciate your life and the people in it. Our suggestions?
Make time for friends.
As you get older, it can be increasingly hard to find time to socialise. Having actual face to face time with pals is becoming rarer, but can bring so much joy! Why not try setting playdates; treat yourself like you might a child and set up an activity. Head to the park, have a movie night, play sport together, have a glass of wine. 3 hours or 30 minutes, just take the time to check in!
Spend it with your family.
Put the tablet down, step away from your mobile and fully log off from any work or technological demands. Have a scrabble evening with your other half, cook a meal with your kids, take your parents out for coffee. Real time, with real people.
Take care of yourself the way you do everyone else. There’s a phrase; ‘you can’t pour water from an empty jug’. Fill your soul first and then spread the joy to others! Take time to do what you enjoy, even if that’s walking the dog, reading a book, or having a bubble bath with a glass of bubbly!
