Finally, summer has arrived, and now is the perfect time to have those easy, homemade smoothies to make great use of all the summer fruit freshly available to you. Not only do they provide an excellent way to feel refreshed and hydrated in warmer weather but they are packed full of goodness too. You can pretty much throw anything you like into a smoothie, but we thought we’d give you a helping hand with some easy recipes below.
There is a current boom in popularity around coconuts and their excellent health benefits inside and out of the body, so why not add this into your smoothie?
To create your Greena-Colada you will need;
- 2 cups of fresh pineapple (peeled and diced)
- 4 heaped tbsp organic dried coconut
- 1 banana (cut into chunks)
- 1 cup of spinach
- 4 stalks of celery (cut into pieces)
- 1 tbsp of raw coconut oil
- 2 cups of coconut water
- Juice from a ¼ of a lime
- 10 ice cubes
Then place all of the above into a blender and voila! You have 2-3 servings of Greena-Colada, the perfect summer smoothie to have with your friends at a BBQ.
Your typical summer-flavoured smoothie right here in simple, easy to do steps.
It includes Goji berries which again are renowned for their excellent health benefits.
All you have to do is have:
- ½ cup of goji berries (best to soak these in water an hour before you do your smoothie)
- 2 bananas (in chunks)
- 4 mint leaves
- ½ cup of spinach
- 2 stalks of celery (cut into pieces)
- ½ a cucumber (cut into chunks)
- 2 cups of filtered water and 10 ice cubes.
Whizz these ingredients together in your blender for 2-3 servings.
These two fantastic fruits mix so well together, and create the loveliest, unique smoothie taste.
This smoothie is great at helping your body fend off illnesses.
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- ½ cup frozen blueberries
- ½ cup frozen mango
- 1 tbsp of chia seeds.
Blend these ingredients together to create a power smoothie for one.
Raspberry Lemonade Smoothie
Quintessentially the perfect smoothie to enjoy lying around a pool or in the sunshine, the raspberry lemonade smoothie is summer in a drink.
To serve a batch of six to eight you’ll need the following:
- A can of lemonade
- 1 and ½ cans of water
- 2 cups of frozen raspberries
- ¼ cup of sugar
- 4 cups of ice
- Fresh lemons (to garnish it only)
