Mother’s Day is the perfect time to show your mum some much-needed love and appreciation, but it is also a great opportunity to celebrate some family togetherness. Amongst the hustle and bustle of family life, it can sometimes be challenging to dedicate an entire day for everyone to enjoy each other’s company. So, to help inspire you this Mother’s Day, we have put together some fun ideas to enjoy the special day as a family.
Host a pamper day
On a special day like Mother’s Day, a little rest and relaxation is certainly sure to put a smile on everyone’s faces. Try creating your own mini spa at home complete with scented candles, calming music and beauty treatments. This way, the entire family gets to enjoy some relaxation and mum can get some downtime too.
Crafts are a great way to get everybody involved and let creativity flow! Gathering around the kitchen table with a box of crafty items such as beads, ribbons, paint, cardboard and glitter pens, will fill you with an afternoon of fun. Friendship bracelets, photo frames and family portraits are all fun artistries to make.
Bake some goodies
Everybody loves to indulge in a sweet treat on a Sunday, so why not all gather in the kitchen and whip up some delicacies. Chocolate chip cookies and a traditional Victoria sponge cake are sure to delight, but letting mum choose her favourite could be an extra special luxury for the day.
Have a movie day
After a busy week, winding down on a Sunday with a duvet day and movie marathon is ideal. Create a cosy den in the living room filled with pillows and blankets, complete with movie snacks such as popcorn and sweets and it’ll be just as good (if not better) as heading to the cinema!
Picnic in the park
If the weather is fine, get some fresh air and take a trip to the park can be a lovely way to celebrate Mother’s Day with your loved ones. Take along a tasty picnic filled with mum’s favourite foods, some bread to feed the ducks and some games such as Frisbee and football, to keep everyone entertained.
